Location

I picked 2 locations at Union Square for my performance strategy piece for this week's assignment. I performed for roughly 15 minutes at each location.

In my entire life I've never thought I would do anything like this. There many homeless people in my home country and I guess it's a norm to see them begging on the street or selling not so good looking flowers in the street especially when there is traffic jam.

Having done the performance piece myself has opened up feelings I've never experienced before, I can't really explain it but just simply lying on the street in the middle of Union Square changes perspective of how I see the world around me. Extreme uncomfort

There was a couple with a kid walked pass me, and the kid really want to come in and play with me but the mother pulled him away as fast as she could. What I find really strange about this incident is that she told her kid that I'm meditating. I wasn't sure if she's trying to protect her son by not telling him that I'm begging and a beggar and keeping her innocent son in a safe bubble space or she really though I was meditating.

Another incident I experienced is that people really don't care on whatever I'm doing. I mean it's sort of obvious that I'm performing because my friend is filming me but there was another teenage couple taking selfies, and the guy is taking a photo for his girlfriend so they just walked right into the scene.......
